LIST-SERVE RULES:
• Language usage should be polite, collegial, and professional. Respect other discussants and avoid direct challenge or attack.
• Cases and images should ALWAYS be stripped of any/all patient-specific information (name, DOB, MR#, etc.) in order to be HIPAA compliant.
• Single images, PowerPoint files, or other format are acceptable for cases. Preferably these should be sent as attachments to the email rather than embedded within. Single small images may be suitable to include in the email message.
• Discussion should be restricted to the particular case in question.
• New (unrelated) cases should begin with a NEW SUBJECT LINE and not be introduced within an existing thread, unless they are used to illustrate related points.
• Do not post commercial messages on any list-serve. Contact people directly with product and service information if you believe it would help them.
• Use caution when discussing products. Information posted on the list is available for all to see, and comments are subject to libel, slander, and antitrust laws and other liabilities, etc.
• ASDIN reserves the right to reproduce these postings.
• Comments should be as brief and "to the point" as possible.
• Comments should not simply repeat what another discussant has already stated, unless new information or a different perspective is provided.
• Reply to the entire list-serve group only with comments that are valuable to the entire group.
• Important points should be supported by key references; ideally these would be attached to emails, but there are probably legal-copyright restrictions that prohibit sharing such documents (e.g., pdf files of published papers) via List-serve.
• Do not post any information or other material protected by copyright without the permission of the copyright owner. By posting material, the posting party warrants and represents that he or she owns the copyright with respect to such material or has received permission from the copyright owner.
NETIQUETTES:
• Each discussant should identify himself/herself by name (unless they desire anonymity). Include a signature tag on all messages. Include your name, affiliation, location, and email address.
• Cases should be well thought out and suitable for distribution. Images should be of good quality so as to be interpretable. Keep in mind that this is an "advanced practice" group; simple or basic questions should be researched independently before soliciting input from the group.
• Include only the relevant portions of the original message in your reply. Delete any header information, and put your response before the original posting.
• Do not send administrative messages, such as remove me from the list, through the List-serve. Instead, use the Web interface to change your settings or to remove yourself from a list. If you are changing email addresses, you do not need to remove yourself from the list and rejoin under your new email address. Simply change your settings.
• Send messages such as "thanks for the information" or "me, too" to individuals--not to the entire list.
