Accreditation: Documentation by The American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology that a nephrology training program or other training site has met specified requirements related to institutional support, facilities, expertise, experience, and personnel directed toward training in Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology. Applications are found at the bottom of this page.
Certification and accreditation are offered in the following areas:
- Sonography of kidneys and urinary bladder
- Insertion of peritoneal dialysis catheters
- Endovascular procedures on AV fistulas and grafts, and Chronic Central Venous Catheters for Dialysis
Please note that applications go through a vigorous 3-step review process. Applications are:
1) Processed and reviewed by the ASDIN office to ensure that all requirements are met. If during this process, there are deficiencies or issues with the application, applicant will be notified and asked to correct deficiencies or provide additional documentation. Only applications that have met ALL requirements are sent to the next step.
2) Sent to the ASDIN Certification Committee for peer review and evaluation
3) Sent back to the ASDIN office for processing and formal notification of acceptance or declination.
The length of the process varies and depends on the accuracy of the completed application, how many certifications are in process, and the time that it takes the committee to review the application.
