Certification Changes
Share |

Beginning January 1, 2016, endovascular stent placement will be part of the core requirements of the HVA Certification application and no longer considered an Advanced Procedure. This is a significant change and comes based on recent evidence.

For HVA Certification, performance of ten (10) endovascular stent placements will be required. Case notes for five (5) placements must be included in the application. For HVA Re-certification, performance of five (5) endovascular stent placements will be required.Case notes for three (3) must be included in the re-certification application. Subcutaneous port placement and vein obliteration will remain as Advanced Procedures on the application.

Training programs and individuals interested in attaining certification should pay close attention to this change since all core procedures are required to obtain HVA certification.
