Effective August 1st, ASDIN will now provide a new advanced procedure within our Hemodialysis Vascular Access certification program – banding for dialysis associated steal syndrome and flow reduction. ASDIN recognizes the importance of banding procedures and the value these procedures offer to our patients.  If you are currently a certified HVA physician and are interested in adding this advanced procedure to your certification, you may add this procedure at the time of recertification by providing the necessary documentation and fee.  For those seeking initial certification, this procedure may be included without charge with your initial application.  Contact for more information.

Also, for those seeking initial certification, the required number of case notes required for thrombectomy has been reduced to two each for graft and fistulas.  The total number of thrombectomy cases performed as the primary operator remains at twenty-five with an adjustment of the required fistula and graft thrombectomy case mix.  This change reflects overall greater fistula prevalence and reduces documentation required with the initial application

The HVA certification applications may be viewed on our website here -
