CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Abstracts are being accepted for the 21st Annual ASDIN Scientific Meeting.  All abstract submissions must be submitted NO LATER THAN Monday, November 4, 2024. Submitters will be notified by email of acceptance as soon as possible following review.

Based on initial scoring, abstract submissions may be assigned to:
- LIVE Podium Presentation
- RapidFire Presentation
- OnDemand Abstract

Podium presentations will be reserved for the top abstract in each category -  US, International and Fellow.

NEW SUBMISSION SITE!
We have a new submission website, Reviewr. If you do not already have an account on Reviewr, please do create an account.  With your account you will be able to:
- edit your submission(s) until the 11/4 deadline
- submit multiple abstracts under your account

It is expected that the individual submitting the abstract will be the abstract presenter.

Interesting Cases are being accepted for the 21st Annual ASDIN Scientific Meeting - February 7-9, 2025 at The Gaylord Texan.  The Call for Cases will remain open until case slots are filled. No deadline will be specified so case authors are encouraged to submit as soon as possible. If you have interesting, intriguing or unusual/atypical cases, ASDIN invites you to submit them for possible inclusion in the ASDIN 21st Annual Scientific Meeting.

This year ASDIN will celebrate its 20th Anniversary in New Orleans on Feb. 23-25, 2024.

We would like you to participate by recording a short video that will be used to promote the event on social media.

Format

Record a short 15-30 second video on your mobile device.

Start by saying who you are and where you are from.

Then answer some, or all, of the following questions:

When did you first attend an ASDIN meeting?
What was your most memorable moment at an ASDIN meeting?
 Who do you look forward to seeing at annual meetings?
 What is your favorite “Geraldism”?
 If you could have any super-power, what would it be and why?

Video TIPS

You can have someone film you or you can make this is true “selfie” experience! Be sure to film holding your phone horizontally.

Make sure there is plenty of light and that you are close enough so that the audio is clear when you are recording the videos.

Once you have completed your video session, create a folder on your computer for the files.

The most common way to get the files from your phone onto your computer is to e-mail them to yourself and then save the attachments from your e-mail to the folder you created.

Don’t worry if your phone says it’s compressing the files when you send them.

Interesting Cases are being accepted for the 20th Annual ASDIN Scientific Meeting.  All case submissions must be submitted NO LATER THAN Tuesday, October 31, 2023. If you have interesting, intriguing or unusual/atypical cases, ASDIN invites you to submit them for possible inclusion in the case discussions session during the ASDIN 20th Annual Scientific Meeting. 


The 2024 Program Planning Committee is specifically looking for cases that fall within these topic areas:

  • Complications while changing tunnelled dialysis catheters
  • Arterial cannulation in AV access
  • Complications from thrombectomy procedures 
  • Complications from PD catheter placement 
  • Complications during endoAVF creation 
  • Complications after endo AVF creation 
  • Complications during/after stent placement 
  • Complications during/after TDC placement or a temporary dialysis catheter 
  • Retrieval of a fractured balloon 
  • Complications from coil deployment 
  • Management of pseudoaneurysm  
  • Unique abnormalities on access evaluation by US 
  • Complications from renal biopsy - traditional or transjugular 
  • Stuck central venous catheter 
  • Cases of steal syndrome  and how its managed
  • Unusual creation or placement of an access/ catheter in the end stage vascular access patient. 
  • Complications from the surfacer device 
  • SVC/ IVC perforation
  • Right atrial or IVC catheter induced thrombus
  • Central venous stenosis cases and how it was managed
  • Unusual cases of arm swelling bearing the AVF
  • Complications from high flow AVF
  • Complications from sharp recanalization technique

FORMAT FOR SUBMISSION:
Powerpoint with 4-5 slides containing the following content:

Before submitting, please redact all patient identifiers from your case documentation.

1. Brief history of the patient and AV access
2. Images of the access- if possible with ultrasound when applicable with the abnormality
3. Images post complication or post-intervention
4. Final images post resolution or worsening after intervention
5. If a patient's access journey is described, have relevant images of the lesion
with time (month /year)
6. Each case presentation should be limited to 4 minutes. Discussion would be 4 minutes.
