20th Annual Call for Cases
Call for Interesting Cases

Submissions are closed.

Interesting Cases are being accepted for the 20th Annual ASDIN Scientific Meeting.  All case submissions must be submitted NO LATER THAN Tuesday, October 31, 2023. If you have interesting, intriguing or unusual/atypical cases, ASDIN invites you to submit them for possible inclusion in the case discussions session during the ASDIN 20th Annual Scientific Meeting. 


The 2024 Program Planning Committee is specifically looking for cases that fall within these topic areas:

  • Complications while changing tunnelled dialysis catheters
  • Arterial cannulation in AV access
  • Complications from thrombectomy procedures 
  • Complications from PD catheter placement 
  • Complications during endoAVF creation 
  • Complications after endo AVF creation 
  • Complications during/after stent placement 
  • Complications during/after TDC placement or a temporary dialysis catheter 
  • Retrieval of a fractured balloon 
  • Complications from coil deployment 
  • Management of pseudoaneurysm  
  • Unique abnormalities on access evaluation by US 
  • Complications from renal biopsy - traditional or transjugular 
  • Stuck central venous catheter 
  • Cases of steal syndrome  and how its managed
  • Unusual creation or placement of an access/ catheter in the end stage vascular access patient. 
  • Complications from the surfacer device 
  • SVC/ IVC perforation
  • Right atrial or IVC catheter induced thrombus
  • Central venous stenosis cases and how it was managed
  • Unusual cases of arm swelling bearing the AVF
  • Complications from high flow AVF
  • Complications from sharp recanalization technique
  • Interesting case of POCUS-based volume assessment
FORMAT FOR SUBMISSION:
Powerpoint with 4-5 slides containing the following content:

Before submitting, please redact all patient identifiers from your case documentation.

1. Brief history of the patient and AV access
2. Images of the access- if possible with ultrasound when applicable with the abnormality
3. Images post complication or post-intervention
4. Final images post resolution or worsening after intervention
5. If a patient's access journey is described, have relevant images of the lesion
with time (month /year)
6. Each case presentation should be limited to 4 minutes. Discussion would be 4 minutes.
