ASDIN is pleased to announce new details regarding our HVA Recertification program as well as a Tunneled Catheter-Only Certification. Effective July 1.
HVA Recertification Change - NEW CME-only Path
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the ASDIN member experience with HVA recertification we are now pleased to offer a CME-only recertification pathway. We have added a pathway for "CME only" recertification - for members with 10 active years of HVA certification (initial certification and one previous recertification). For the "CME only" pathway, 12 CMEs over a slightly longer time of 4 years will be required.
ASDIN appreciates the value of members with 10 years of HVA certification, and no case logs or case minimum volumes will be necessary for members that qualify for this new CME pathway. Our goal is to make this a more streamlined recertification experience for the membership, and to continue to promote education in the field.
A “practice pathway” will still exist for recertification under the current criteria.

Tunneled Catheter-Only Certification
ASDIN has reinstated the “catheter-only” certification. Offered in the past as a component of HVA certification, the new process has been revised and is somewhat streamlined. Nephrologists and other physician specialties have expressed interest in ASDIN's endorsement for them to perform tunneled catheters. The Tunneled Catheter-Only Certification will not have a recertification component. Please be sure to share this opportunity with colleagues who may not be ASDIN members, but who would be interested in this new recognition program. For additional information, click here.
