In an effort to make things a little less serious...
I wanted to ask fellow interventionalists if they play music in the procedure room and if so, what are their preferences/dislikes. Are is there particular music you play depending on the type of procedure?
in our Fluoroscopy suite we typically have the radio on to a station that typically play's 80's music, which I like, and many of the patients seem to be able to relate to and enjoy.
The radio plays the sweet sounds of the 70s...lots of Bee Gees, Rod Stewart, Diana Ross. Patents seem to like it, and keeps everyone in a mellow mood. I might as well install a disco ball in the procedure room....
We have a Sonos system with my music library and Pandora available. We ask the patient what or who they want to hear, & then dial up that station. Works great; patient is happy, & expands our musical horizons. We do cringe when they ask for gospel, but just hope for a short case😜
