OBL to ASC with AAAHC

We are currently accredited with AAAHC as an Office Base Lab.

 

We have begun the process of hiring an architect and applying to the state but I was wondering if anyone has made this switch recently with AAAHC as their accrediting body.

 

It looks to me that the standards are very similar or exactly the same, just the addition of the Fire and Life Safety items? Maybe I just want it to be that simple?!? LOL!

We are in Philadelphia and converting our Office Based Lab to a CMS deemed ASC, using the Joint Commission. While we are using different agencies to perform the ASC certification survey, the regulations are the same. You are right in saying that it's pretty much the same as the PA ASF regulations, with the addition of some Life Safety components, and some more in depth procedures with QI/QA and existing policies.
