FELLOW EDUCATION SESSION - FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 20 - 2:30 PM - 4:45 PM Building the Foundation: Understanding Interventional Nephrology This introductory lecture provides nephrology fellows with an essential foundation in the principles and practice of interventional nephrology. Through a focused discussion on vascular access types, physical examination, and common procedures, fellows will gain a clearer understanding of how access planning and maintenance integrate into comprehensive kidney care. The session also highlights the role of imaging and ultrasound in access evaluation and procedural decision-making. Beyond Fellowship: Building Your Nephrology Career This session focuses on preparing fellows for the transition from training to independent practice. Faculty will share practical strategies for navigating career decisions in both academic and private settings, optimizing CVs, excelling in interviews, and avoiding common early-career pitfalls. The discussion also explores hybrid and alternative career paths within nephrology, empowering fellows to shape fulfilling and sustainable careers. Dialysis Access Simulation & Skills Lab This interactive session offers nephrology fellows an opportunity to explore key procedures in interventional nephrology through guided, hands-on experience. Fellows will rotate through diverse simulation stations to observe and practice core concepts in vascular access creation, maintenance, and peritoneal dialysis catheter placement, gaining valuable exposure to the tools and techniques that define this evolving field. ALSO - Travel Grants for the 2026 ASDIN Scientific Meeting are available for Fellows and Physicians in Training. Deadline for applying for the grant to support travel for fellows and physicians in training is Monday, 12/1. Notifications will be sent by December 17, 2025. WHAT DOES THE GRANT INCLUDE?
